Maria Gambús
I am Maria Gambús, wife, mother, illustrator, teacher, art therapist and artist. I live in a small town in Osona but I grew up in Vallès, Matadepera. My artistic journey has focused mainly on illustration. The illustration has allowed me to express many things without words apart from the silence of the voice and, therefore, a visual narrative. Graphic art has accompanied me as a method of expression since I was very young. Despite the wings that illustration has given me, there has come a point where it has fallen short for me. It is now that I incorporate conceptual, visual and contemporary art that gives me a much wider range of expression. Expression of things that are much more visceral and that gives rise to a more forceful social impact. Photography, sound art, video art, installations and actions are beginning to form part of my most significant creations.
